Product and Service Update
ITpreneurs releases update of ITIL ITIL® Intermediate Planning, Protecting and Optimization (PPO) course
In a continuous effort to increase the quality of our ITIL v3 Intermediate course materials, ITpreneurs announces a new release of the ITIL v3 Intermediate course Planning, Protection and Optimization (5 days classroom or 5 days Virtual Classroom).
The first intermediate course that was released under our Service Improvement program was Release Control and Validation, in July, followed by SOA in August, OSA in September and now PPO in October. These courses are now ready for ordering by ITpreneurs partners or through the ITpreneurs Partner Course Calendar.

What has changed in this version:

  • Better guidance for instructors:
Detailed visual presentation material is available for instructors to explain concepts, highlight the interfaces between the publications or introduce exercises. Talking points help the instructor to deliver this content.
  • Enhanced usability of the material:
Students receive a workbook containing course reference material and additional self-study information. The workbook further includes all exercises that are completed in the class as well as the answers to these exercises.
  • Clean up any obvious errors:
From all the Intermediate courses, the Planning, Protecting and Optimization course is the most application driven course. The course design caters to this and provides a well-balanced approach to combining lecture and exercises.
  • Strengthening of Exercises:
In Q4 of this year, ITpreneurs will be launching its' Accelerated Expert Program to the market, providing an ‘ITIL v2 Service Management approach' to ITIL Intermediate courses. Planning, Protecting and Optimization was developed in such a way that it seamlessly integrates with the ITpreneurs Accelerated Expert Program design of high energy and fast paced experiential learning.
  • Homework:
There is emphasis on 21 hours of homework as indicated in the official Syllabus.
What else are we doing
  • Other update releases for ITIL v3 Intermediate Lifecycle courseware:
    • Service Strategy (SS) v1.2 was released on October 15, 2009
    • Service Transition (ST) v1.2 to be released on November 5, 2009
  • Shortening Virtual Classroom sessions by adding e-learning components:
The Virtual Classroom sessions of the ITIL v3 Intermediate courses now have the same duration as the classroom versions. In December of this year, e-learning blocks of 10 hours will be introduced for each of the Intermediate Virtual Classroom courses, thus significantly reducing the face time, and increasing the self study component.
