Some of the key aspects of this course
- Detailed PowerPoint Reference material and talking points:
Detailed visual presentation material is available for instructors to explain concepts, highlight the interfaces between the publications or introduce exercises. Talking points help the instructor to deliver this content.
- Practical and usable student materials:
Students receive a workbook containing course reference material and additional self-study information. The workbook further includes all exercises that are completed in the class as well as the answers to these exercises.
- Balanced mix of lecture and practical work:
from all the Intermediate courses, the Managing Across the Lifecycle course is the most application driven course. The course design caters to this and provides a well-balanced approach to combining lecture and exercises.
- Boot Camp ready:
In Q4 of this year ITpreneurs will be launching its’ Expert Boot Camp program to the market, providing an ‘ITIL v2 Service Management approach’ to ITIL Intermediate courses. Managing Across the Lifecycle was developed in such a way that it seamlessly integrates with the ITpreneurs Boot Camp design of high energy and high pace experiential learning.
 |
Managing Across the Lifecycle focuses on the management aspects of ITIL v3 and addresses specifically the interfaces between the five core ITIL v3 publications ensuring an integrated view to IT service management. This course is designed using an engaging scenario-based approach to learning the core disciplines of the ITIL best practice and positions the student to successfully complete the associated exam.
ITpreneurs strength lies in the development of instructionally solid education material that takes into account the requirements of students as well as the objectives and skill levels of course materials. In this regard, the ITIL v3 Managing Across the Lifecycle course is designed with an emphasis on experiential learning through discussions, exercises, case studies and sharing of information among students and the instructor rather than focusing on slide after slide delivery. |

Instructional method
Some of the instructional methods used in this interactive classroom situation include: round robin, brainstorm sessions, teach back sessions, discussion or self study. PowerPoint slide materials are available, but primarily used to introduce topics and as reference material. To ensure consistency in the portfolio, Managing Across the Lifecycle also includes the Hotel case study “Royal Chao Phraya”. Using scenarios from the hotel business (service oriented environment), students learn to absorb and retain the information delivered in this class. All these learning interventions ensure that students internalize the learning, as required, to sit for their final examination successfully and to apply the new practical experience back at the workplace. |
